Bow River Brown Trout |
D.B.O. Guide Mike Turnbull conducted the first guided fishing trip for the 2011 season on The Bow River .Client James Hutton of Vancouver B.C. can't get enough of the "mighty Bow" and it's hard fighting Browns and Rainbows ,hence he took advantage of some pre-runoff fishing .The hatches are late but they managed to be successful using light nymph rigs and did have shots at some snouts.
The good news is the Caddis are just starting to get going , so dry fly fishing should start to pick up ..until the runoff hits .In the meantime down here in Baja Arizona flies are being tied and gear being checked ,as I will be making my way north during the first week of June .Fishing Lees Ferry enroute to the Missouri River ,then up to Fernie. This years Snow Pack is significant so late July into September is the timeframe to plan a trip...I will keep you posted .
