Gamefish status in NC? Really?

We are closer than we have ever been to gaining gamefish status for redfish, speckled trout and striped bass n NC. It's actually possible due to the hue and cry from all the videos of dead striped bass off the coast of the Outer Banks last month.

What is gamefish status you ask? Good question, it pretty much means that commercial fishing for those species will end. And this will end the waste. And in case you are not totally sure then look at this:
