Fly Fishing Report For Bell Creek, CA
Went fishing to Bell Creek (near Pinecrest, CA) on 7/8/11 with my friend Darrel. It was his first time fly fishing.
Where: Bell Creek at Crabtree Trailhead
Who: Jon and Darrel
What: 9 Brook Trout (8 for me and 1 for Darrel)
Pattern: VFG Nymph
We fished for five hours along about a quarter of a mile stretch of the creek, near the parking lot for Crabtree Trailhead. I caught my eight trout all out of an eddie behind a large boulder partly lying in the river. The fish were small, the biggest being 9 inches long. But there were plenty and they were hungry!
