Orvis Days @ Dry Creek Outfitters -Tucson AZ.

Mike tying some of his "Kick Ass "Bass flies .

Saturday was again spent drooling and talking Fly-fishing this time it was at  Dry Creek's Outfitters  annual Orvis Days .Eric (the Shop Owner)does a great job and there was a ton of support from the local Fly-fishing community. Project Healing Waters and Trout Unlimited where at the shop talking up their Noble causes .
Some of the seminars included tying Bass Bugs ,Fishing The White Mountains and yours truly on Fly-fishing the Canadian Rockies.Hutch Hutchinson the Orvis Rep. for the South West was also on hand displaying Orvis Fly-Rods and conducting casting demos .

Project Healing Waters is very active in AZ.

The turnout was excellent , it was great to see old friends and meet new new ones.
Dry Creek Outfitters will be hosting a trip to  the Bow river August 19th -Aug 23rd.
HOPPER TIME ! contact me for more info.

Trout Unlimited  is also "getting at it" here in AZ

                                                            Trying out Fly-Rods

The Tucson Air Show was also going on so  there was lots of "excitement in the air "
over Tucson and the Fly-shop. having spent 5 years as a Paratrooper in the Canadian Army
I still get pretty stoked when I see transport  aircraft  flying around, that usually means something
cool is going to happen ,namely a Parachute drop! and sure enough a C-17 was circling around with the ramp open dropping members of the US Army Parachute Team .. the Golden Knights .

C-17 with the ramp down over Tucson.

Most of my jumps where out of C-130's,which normally would hold 40 Paratroopers  with  equipment, the C-17 is double that.
I would hate to be the Anti -Western World Scumball  looking up  from his camel and seeing about 25 of these  bad boys flying  at 500-750 feet,  low and slow ...someone is going to get their butt kicked .
