The day after tomorrow

Forecast for Saturday is +4 degrees Celsius. Just about perfect for the first fishing day of the season - not counting the rain. Given that today is below zero but tomorrow is already above, the expectations are high for Saturday. The stone fly hatch is expected.

Day One

I just created this blog.

Here is a picture of Nokisenkoski. It's nice little stretch of river between two lakes in eastern Finland.

Populations of brown trout, grayling and whitefish offer some good sport for fishermen living nearby.

Caddisflies are normally the single most important insect family here. But at this time of the year it is February Red stone fly that hatches and creates first real dry fly fishing opportunities of the year.
