Fly Fishing Report, Bell Meadow, CA

July 30, 2011
Clavey River, CA

Went flyfishing with my family to Bell meadow, to the headwaters of the Clavey River. We fished for three hours before heading out. We caught three rainbows and one brook trout. The flies used were Stimulators and Hare's Ear Nymphes. I caught two rainbows, my dad one rainbow and the brookie went to my mom.

Beaver Creek, CA Fly Fishing Report

Beaver Creek, CA

Went to Calaveras Big Trees SP on July 16th and fished Beaver Creek. It was a beautiful day and the creek is in fantastic shape. I fished a Stimulator the whole time catching some nice rainbows. With all the snow we had this year, the smaller creeks and rivers are perfect now.

Hulsey Lake, AZ Fly Fishing Report

April 25, 2011

Fly fished from my float tube at Hulsey Lake near Alpine, Arizona. It's a small lake and got pushed around by the wind. Spent a few hours kicking around and caught 4 rainbows around 14 inches. All of the fish landed were on the amber and brown VFG Nymph size 16 trailing a black Wooly Bugger. Some of my fly fishing buddies broke away from their annual turkey to join me.

Highland Lakes, CA

I've seen the board has been kinda slow. Thought I would share some photo's from a camping trip to Highland Lakes during the Fourth of July where we caught several trout. The North Fork of the Mokelumne River flows from lower Highland Lakes and provides challenging fishing as well.

Eagle Lake Fly Fishing Report from Jon H.

Date: 7/26/10
Place: Eagle Lake
Fish Caught: 4 Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout
Fly Used: San Juan Worm and real worm!

Spend the day fishing with my friend Darrell, my mom, and Darrell's wife. We fly-fished at right about dawn but managed to not hook a single fish. As the day started to heat up we kept right on fishing until we had to come in at about lunch time. By then we had managed to bring in 4 fish between the four of us(2 for me, one for Darrell and one for my mother).

Location: North Fork of the White River, AZ White Mountain Apache Reservation

Details: Fished with Ed Nied for 3 days on the North Fork, near Hawley Lake turnoff and the Upper Log Road. We also fly-fished Earl Park Lake from float tubes. Excellent late summer fly-fishing for Arizona high country. Mostly used dry/droppers with the Pheasant Tail Frostbite size #18 being the HOT fly, once again.

Hat Creek, CA Fly Fishing Report **October 3, 2010**

Fly Fishing Report Submitted by: Sean Wallentine

Location: Hat Creek, CA

Details: Fished near the headwaters on October 2, 2010, with friend Christian Hill from Colorado. We spent about 3 hours fishing dries with nymph droppers and also used an indicator with two nymphs. I caught 9 fish: 6 browns, 2 brook trout and 1 rainbow. The weather was perfect: no wind, and 75 degrees. Hat Creek is a splendid fishery and just about as beautiful as a creek can possibly be.
