Lake Fork of the Gunnison River, near Lake City, CO
The fishing today was tough. We covered at least 2 miles of river with only two fish to show for it. The river had many places that looked like it should hold fish, but looks can be deceiving. The winds kicked up and the temperature fluctuated. Weather reports are not good for tomorrow with a chance of snow. We did enjoy the day and the autumn Colorado colors. The beauty of this area is unsurpassed. We ended the day with a little confidence booster. We headed back for a little Smith pond action. Some of us needed to avoid being skunked.
As we were headed back for a break we came upon a bull and cow moose near a marsh and beaver pond. We were warned of their presence. Luckily, we were graced with opportunity to see them.
